Arts And Books Exhibition At Yishun Public LibraryJust in time for holiday visitors, the Yishun Library hosted the artwork of our student artists for a month beginning 22 November 2011 when it was launched by our Second Permanent Secretary of Education, Ms Yeoh Chee Yan.
The exhibition with artworks ranging from ceramics to paper mache was a great platform to showcase our students' artworks to the public. Through the exhibition, it is hoped that the community would realise that art is accessible to everyone and art can be part of everyone's life and eventually be able to see how important it is to be able to express oneself through Arts.
School Audit ResultsWe are very happy to inform that our school has achieved Band A for the financial audit for the period August 2008 to July 2010. It is a remarkable achievement as Huamin Pri is placed 5th in position out of a total of 115 schools audited. This means that most financial controls and processes are in place and being followed. Only 23% of all schools have managed to achieved Band A grading.
Congratulations to our Admin support team for their hardwork and contributions.
Inter-Generation IT Bootcamp for Grandparents or Elderly RelativesThe Inter-generation IT Bootcamp was conducted by Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) where pupils were engaged as the cyberguides and helped their elderly family members picked up IT and practical e-lifestyle tips such as how to watch videos on YouTube, using Instant Messaging and emailing etc. The bootcamp also helped senior citizens overcome their phobia or inertia to learn new computer skills - especially when these seniors are the pupils' own grandparents or elderly relatives.
