MOE Edusave Character Award 2014 (ECHA)
In line with The Ministry of Education’s (MOE) effort to provide a holistic education centered on the inculcation of values and character, an Edusave Character Award (ECHA) was introduced in 2012. The objective of this award is to recognize Singaporean pupils who demonstrate exemplary values and civic responsibility through their behavior and actions, and who can inspire others as role models. For instance, these may be pupils who have shown resilience and have done well despite their difficult circumstances.
It is pertinent that the intrinsic motivation of doing good deeds be fostered in our pupils. Hence, we have devised a way of recognising good character and exemplary values in our students and it is aligned to our CME/CCE values namely, Responsibility, Respect, Care and Harmony, Integrity and Resilience, as well as our school values. Attached to this letter are the eligibility criteria and the nomination form.
To make a nomination, the nominee should fulfill the criteria and examples displaying his/her inherent values should be provided. The write-up should not exceed 100 words. All nomination forms have to be submitted to Huamin Primary School Administration Office by 4 August, 2014, 5 p.m. Late nominations will not be accepted. Should you require more nomination forms, you may obtain them from the school’s Administration Office. Alternatively, you may download them from our school’s website.
All the nomination forms will be screened by the Form Teachers and selected nominees will then have to go through an interview by a selection panel. The purpose of the screening is to ensure that the ECHA is awarded to the most deserving pupils. Should your child be nominated for this award, he/she will be notified by the end of this year.
Thank you for working closely with us on this journey to provide a more holistic education for all our pupils.
